Memories of Jim go back to about 1951 when my dad decided that his boys should be given boxing lessons and Jim was hired for the job. I recall an Amerks game together, the wedding of course and unfortuantely only 1 or 2 rounds of golf together. Jim was a good friend and a great guy.

Dear Sandy,
We are very sorry that both you and Jim had to go through what you did before he died. ALS is an awful disease! We hope that Jim is now at peace and that you can rest up after your ordeal and that you, also, can be at peace!

Our deepest sympathies to Sandy, Steve and Tracy and families at the loss of your husband and dad. Jim was a great neighbor and friend to my parents. I have fond memories of him and Sandy and the kids when we were growing up and my sister has stories of babysitting for you. Remember all the fun times, like snowmobiling and dining at the Red Rooster, parties and chicken gizzards and peppers and onions at my parents, all of our graduation parties and weddings that you attended. All good times. He will be deeply missed.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I worked 2nd shift at Gleason's for quite a few years with Jim and did not know of his illness. Jim and I were 2 of the very few Cleveland Brown fans at Gleason's and had many conversations about the highs and lows of the team through the years. I missed those conversations when he retired. He was a great guy.

I am so saddened by Jim's passing. He was such a big part of my life growing up on Gaylord Street. He coached our baseball teams for more years than anyone else, protected us from bad guys on more than one Halloween, and drove us to Cincinnati to watch the Reds play the Phillies. He never complained about the divots we put in his lawn, the weights we dropped on his floor, or the windows we broke in the barn. He was a caring, genuine man, and I'll never forget him.
Sandy, Tracy, and Steve--my deepest sympathies.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss and realize how ALS can be for the individual and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am so glad that I got to meet Jim and spend some time with him. He was always very easy to speak to and his compassion for others was always evident. The NCAA auction in Naples will not be quite the same without him.
Our best goes out to you all.
Scott and Laura Curtis (friends of Steve and Wendy)
