My sincere thoughts and prayers go to you and family. I will always remember the fun we shared doing the class reunions and the many times I offered Dick a ride home in the pouring rain but he refused. I am sure Gracie misses him as well. If you ever need anything I am just a call away. Take care of yourself and wonderful family. Peg

Dear Mrs. Moore and children, My sister Debbie called me today with the sad news of Mr. Moore's passing; she knew that he had been one of my favorite teachers at SCS. I was never a math whiz, but Mr. Moore's patience and after school help was the key to my being able to pass trigonometry my junior year. He never gave up on me and always had a sense of humor which made me try even harder. As a veteran teacher of English and Theatre for 33 years, now retired, he and his pal Don Rhine were my inspiration for being a teacher. Not only for their mastery of their discipline, but more importantly for their love, sense of humor, and patience when teaching their students. I so enjoyed seeing him and Mrs. Moore over the years at various SCS gatherings. I know how much he will be missed by not only his loving family, but also, the entire Sodus Community. My heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. I am sorry I am unable to attend the service because I just had surgery on Monday; otherwise, I would have been there to celebrate his life.

Mrs. Moore and Family, My heart is heavy today at hearing the news of Mr. Moores Passing. Our God is an amazing God, and he allows people to touch our lives in very subtle ways, and Mr. Moore left his footprint on my heart...he was so unique, I was in awe of him, he was such a "cool teacher", and he was fun to observe, his mannerisms and his character. Inspiring. The few times I have been back to Sodus I had the privalege of talking to him when we were visting the DeLysers, and we talked about his running and I mentioned the Myrtle Beach Marathon and how I thought he should come south for the race. If he ever came I don't know, but each year when we have the marathon I think about him and smile...this year when I think about him I will look up and thank the Lord for allowing me to have the privalege of knowing him. God bless all of you and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

How can I say good bye for ever to a such a great and kind hearted person like Dick. He is my good friend Jeremy's loving Dad, whom I got to know 20 years ago in Karlsruhe, Germany. We cooked together, jogged together, had some beers and enjoyed their stay in Karlsruhe. When I saw him, I always remembered my Dad, who passed away 28 years ago after suffering from a pancreas cancer. Dick was a dad to me as well. Dick you will always be remembered in my life.
