Obituary of Everett Gerald White

Sodus: Entered into rest on December 10, 2010, age 84 at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital. Everett is survived by his loving and devoted companion of 38 years, Joanne Fessler of Sodus; sons Robert (Marilyn) White of Sodus, Dale (Anita) White of Williamson, daughter Cindy Sawyer of Williamson; special grandson Gerald Everett White of Sodus; ten grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren. A special thanks to step daughter Diane Hendershot for all of her caring and nurturing during this difficult time. Everett was predeceased by his parents, Ruth Burkett and Arthur Floyd White, and by sons Wayne and Dennis White of Sodus. During his long and extremely active life, Everett had served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a long time member of Williamson American Legion Post 394, Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2883 in Newark, and a past member of the Wallington Fire Department. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday (Dec 19) from 2-4 at the NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 45 West Main Street, Sodus. Everett’s funeral will be Monday, 2 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by a continued celebration of his life at Captain Jack’s in Sodus Point. Spring interment with Military Honors will be at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. Everett will be remembered for his love of automobiles. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Sodus Town Ambulance.
