Schinsing Family,
It was with great sorrow tht I learned of Johns passing earlier this week. I knew John through his youngest son Tom, who has been a lifelong friend, and from working summers during the cherry season at the Sodus Fruit Farm. I would have trouble trying to think of a kinder and fairer man.I have nothing but fond memories of John, including watching him drive around the farm in his red and white Chvey pickup with his German Shepherd Lady chasing him to the "shop". My sincerest condolences on your loss. Sodus is a slightly lesser place without him. A great man has left us.May John rest in peace.

I was the luckest women when i meant tom, not only did i get a good man but a wonderful set of in-laws dad and mom always treated me and my son like part of the family. When tom and i moved next door to them i was afraid that would change but it wasn't like that at all we got even closer. we worked together to put our lawn in. planted many trees and flowers and oh lord we pulled out cherry trees almost by hand and dad and mom was right there everyday to help. we would meet dad outside everyday and work in his place or ours stop for lunch and go at it again he was so funny and proud to have us next to him he and mom always said they wanted to make a little park between our houses. He was so like a dad to me,i loved him and mom deerly.where ever we go i see mom and dad in our yard. we will miss him so much, mom and dad tought me what family was all about. He was a wonderful man and i thank god everyday that i am part of this family

Larry and I are so sorry to hear of John’s illness and passing. He and Dorothy have always felt like family to us. John cut the grass at our cottage on Lake Ontario for twenty-seven years!! He was the most reliable person we could possibly have had doing that job for us. When he was sick, I think he probably did it anyway. When he was really sick, he made sure there was a substitute. Sometimes over the years, he would arrive with a lovely bouquet of dahlias and a great big smile. I will never see a dahlia again for the rest of my life without thinking of John. He didn’t want to be paid very frequently. I think he liked to accumulate his “pay” so he could buy something special with it or maybe he wanted it to feel more substantial so he could put it away for a rainy day. When we stopped at his house to pay him, Dorothy would also know how many times he had cut the lawn. She looked out for us too if there was a branch down or something that needed our attention, she would call us. They were a wonderful team and we are so grateful to have known them.
I’m going to miss John terribly.

Grandpa Leo would tell me stories of things he did in his life from his child hood to when he was in the military; One thing he would talk about, is when he left to join the Army, then was stationed in Germany. Later his brother John, joined the service. Grandpa Leo received a letter from his mother that his brother was in Germany. Grandpa Leo then found out where he was, signed out a jeep and left to go find him. I always thought that this story was pretty cool, how two brothers met back up over in Germany. "All those who have passed with Christ will also meet up again in heaven." (We love you John Schinsing & will see you again.) Sincerely with love the Schinsing family. :)
