To Georges Family; It was with great sorrow that I just recently was made aware of Georges death. I get the Record, but it comes a week late out here in the SW. I knew George from my summers working at the Sodus Fruit Farm in the late 60's when my grandfather Marcus Buckman ran it. I always remember George as having a smile on his face, even when his cherry truck was at the back of the line late at night waiting to unload. I use to take the USDA samples from the growers trucks, and George was one of my favorite people to see in the waiting line. Sodus has lost one of it's finest and friendliest. I went to Penfield HS, but considered Sodus my weekend home. My mother and sisters all graduated from SHS. We visit visit Sodus every summer, and it won't be the same without George. My deepest sympathies on yours and Sodus' great loss.

Although only a resident of Sodus a short time George became an instant friend he always had time to listen and engage in great conversations I tried to visit with him each time I returned to Sodus, usually visiting my friend Bill Tinklepaugh. George has been in my thoughts almost daily and he will be truely missed, God is looking after him now and enjoying his great personality as I did.

Lucy and I were high school classmates of George. We both recall his skill at basketball, playing center for the team. Following high school, we went our separate ways, but ran into George at various times. And always, he was the same friendly, smiling George we recalled from high school days. Our condolences to the family; the world has lost a good man.

Our deepest sympathy goes to all of you.
George was a dear friend to my entire family. He helped nurture both Eric and Heidi during their teenage years by giving them the responsibility of working the fruit stand.
When we first moved to Sodus in 1966, George was one of our first friends. He helped acquaint us with life in Sodus and was always available with friendship and guidance as we became home owners and parents.
He always came to my George's aid when asked.
Short visits with him puts smiles on our faces and added sunlight to our days.
He will be greatly missed.
