Obituary of Gale R. Noble

Merrimac, Mass: Gale R. Noble, died Sunday evening, Sept. 27, 2009, at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA.
Born in Lyons, NY on September 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Richard and Irene Noble and attended Clyde Central School System, graduating from Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY.
He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and after his discharge he worked for Mohawk Airlines of Utica, NY, then Alleghany Airlines of Pittsburgh, PA, and then U. S. Airways in Boston, retiring from his position of supervisor at Logan International Airport in 1995.
On October 3, 1959, he married JoAnn Van Vleck of Savannah, NY, who survives him. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed many years of fishing in the lakes of New Hampshire. He was a member of the Merrimacport United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife JoAnn of Merrimac, he is survived by three children, Richard A. Noble and wife Virginia and Rendell G. Noble and wife Amy all of Merrimac, and Roxene Elisabeth and her husband A. Joseph Dichard of Salisbury; grandchildren, Elisabeth and Melissa Noble of Merrimac, and Christopher and Bradlee Dichard of Salisbury; a brother Ronald D. Noble of Texas; a brother-in-law Lawrence Van Vleck and his wife Lisa of Pittsford, NY and their children, Adam and Matthew of NY; nieces, Pamela and Tambra of AZ; nephews, Richard and Robert and nieces, Maria and Deborah all of Alabama; a step-grandchild, Robin Soper of Sterling, NY; two step-great-grandchildren, Kortney and Michael Soper of Sterling, NY; several cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews all from upstate New York. He was predeceased by a daughter Renee Alene Noble who died at the age of four and his sister, Sally Thompson of Alabama.
Calling hours at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac, will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Merrimacport United Methodist Church in Merrimac. Private burial will be in Butler-Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, NY.
