Sodus: Passed away on Thursday, September 3rd, following a brief illness. John is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Jennifer (Walter Malesa Sr.) Austin, Christine (Michael Toner) Holtz, and Michael Holtz; grandchildren Katie Austin and Walter Malesa Jr.; and his sister Eva (Dean) Travis. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Avilda Holtz.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, September 11th, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main Street, Sodus. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday September 12th, 10 a.m. from the Church of the Epiphany in Sodus. Military Funeral Honors will be accorded following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, John's family requests that memorials may be directed to Church of the Epiphany, c/o Sodus Community Christmas Sharing Program, 105 W. Main Street, Sodus, NY 14551.
