My sympathies go out to Roy's wife Ethel and all of the family and friends for their loss. Losing a loved one, especially so suddenly can be very difficult. Please know that you can always throw your burdens upon Jehovah God and He will sustain you (Psalms 55:22).

Just got the Wayne County Star in the mail and read about Roy. Sorry to hear about him. I've been thinking about all of you lately. I remember Roy and Ethyl working in the "Little W" store in alton (phone HT3-4328 if I remember correctly). I've been out of touch with just about everyone as we've lived in England and the NearEast since 2000 and came back when I retired in March 2009.

Becky,
Just wanted to let your family know that I am thinking about all of you at this time, and am so sorry for your loss. I have so many happy childhood memories that are connected to the Little W. Our neighbors would get together on a Friday night and someone would make a run to the Little W for fried chicken and those great potatos or for pizzas. Those nights we would play hide and seek for hours, while our parents socialized. Very happy memories...we lived for those Friday nights! Thank you for sharing your father with us, running a family business can take you away from your own family...so I just wanted you to know that your father blessed my life, and gave me memories to cherish forever. God Bless you and your family always. - Susan

uncle Roy was always there to help with questions and problems when we were learning to drive tractor trailer truck, even at midnite when we were in an ice storm with no brakes and not a clue what to do. He was so calm and said now just tell me what you did, then it was no problem now we can fix that.
