My condolences go out to Mary's husband John and all of the family and friends for their loss. Please know that although Mary is now resting and has returned to dust (Genesis 3:19), Jehovah God does promise a resurrection (Acts 24:15 & John 5:28,29). Until that time, please continue to rely on Him for faith and comfort because Jehovah God cares for us all (1 Peter 5:7).

I was saddened to hear that Mrs. Henry had passed away, and yet as the news sank in I found myself smiling...she was an amazing teacher, her dedication to her calling was evident in everything she did. I was so unmusical, but she let me try out for every solo I wanted...what she must have endured!!! She always allowed me to believe in myself... I didn't know til years later that I was tone deaf...what a testament to her character. God Bless your family at this time and thank you for sharing her with me.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Henry.
She was my band teacher in school, and we all loved her. She was a very sweet and talented person.
I know that this community will not be the same without her. In my mind, I know she is with God and playing the piano for Him.

Dear Mr. Henry, Anne and Family,
I am so sad to hear the news. Mrs. Henry (as I always called her)first touched my life as my beginning band teacher in 1981. This was only the beginning of my musical journey with her. As I continued through high school I played in the handbell choir under her direction. She was always a great suport for me in my singing as well. From shows at Gates Hall to singing solos for church she was always a constant voice of honesty I could count on. When I decided to go into music as a career she was there as a piano teacher and friend. Her influence on me has been life-long. The lessons I learned stay with me today. I can only hope that I might have an impact on a student the way she had on me. I will always think of Mrs. Henry as a teacher, mentor, and friend. She will be greatly missed. I hope that knowing how special she was to me helps you in this difficult time. May God bless you!
Fondly,
Christine (Minier) Vallas

Before writing in the guest book, I read the previous entries and they all touched me. Its hard to believe that she is gone. Im not entirely sure if heaven exist but I really hope once the time comes for me, I will see her again. Being apart from family members, especially ones who've always been there for me, is quite difficult.
In my 19yrs of life, there are way too many memories to rethink or share. But Im just very thankful that I got to spend Easter with her before she died.
Grandma's love for music was a gift to us all. I remember listening to her practicing the music for church, shows at the "hall" and even the little nursery rhymes. I really wish I couldve had the dedication she had for music.
Thinking that she is gone doesnt seem real, but when you enter the Henry household and see the spot that she used to sit at the table is now empty is like a slap in the face. Or seeing her slippers/sneakers, glasses and lifeline wristband on the bedside table just makes you realize how real her death is.
I love you Grandma & miss you more!

Dearest John,
The fondest memories of my childhood, adolescence and into adulthood, marriage, children and grandchildren are of the many happy hours spent with you and Mary Alice sharing music, poker, jokes, laughter and the tasty ever present cookies that were always kept in the same cupboard so we'd(Jim and I,at least)knew where to find them.
She blessed us with her love, service to others, patience, faith and the openess of her heart and home to all.
It is difficult to think goodbye..she was in many ways as much a mother to me as my own. My/Our one consolation is the knowledge that she now dwells among the saints and all the company of heaven and that we will be together again in eternity. May this comfort be yours as well.
With all my/our love,
Linda and Russ

We Remember When...
Mary Alice played for our wedding in 1985. Several years later they moved onto some of their property behind our home and we enjoyed strolling down the long driveway for a visit from time to time. Mary Alice was a very special lady. We will dearly miss her. Our sympathy goes out to her family. We know she is in God's loving care and hope to see her again someday.
