Obituary of James Richard Barker Sr.

Savannah: Jim passed away peacefully at his home on January 15, 2015 with his wife and dogs at his side. He was 77 years old. Jim started working at Fold Pak in Newark when he was 18, and retired from there in 2000 after 45 years of faithful employment. It is where he met his wife Bettsey of 32 years. His favorite pastime was camping, which he lived for. Other enjoyments were his dogs, travel, yard work, watching 49ers football and barbequing. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim is predeceased by four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife Bettsey Barker, daughter Debbie (Jose) Perez of Maryland, son Gerry (Gerald and Nancy) Barker of Seneca Falls, son Jimmy “James” Barker of Clyde, son Timothy (Patty) Barker of Savannah, daughter Parmalee (Tony) Zochios of Macedon, daughter Christie (John) Andrzejewski of Shortsville, and son Cory James Barker; twelve grandchildren, one great grandson, mother-in-law, three sister-in-laws, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. on Tuesday January 20th at the Savannah Community Church, 13368 Seneca Street in Savannah. His funeral service will be held immediately following the end of visitation.
