Sodus: Passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at age 89. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy; and sister Charlotte. He is survived by brothers Harold (Jean) of Coupeville, WA., and Richard (Nancy) of Sodus; several nieces and nephews.
Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served as an ambulance driver during WWII in the European Theatre of Operations. Campaigns that Charles participated in include the D-Day Normandy Invasion, and the Battle of the Bulge.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, August 30th, 2-4 p.m. from Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street, Sodus. Charles’ funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Interment with Military Honors, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday September 4th, at the Sodus Rural Cemetery.
