Obituary of Edward I. Miller Sr.

Dade City FL/Wolcott: Edward Irving Miller Sr. passed away peacefully following a long illness on June 23, 2014, age 77. Ed was born December 18, 1936 in Syracuse, son of the late Edward Miller and Louise Stanton Glanzel. A people person, Ed enjoyed family gatherings, clambakes, bowling, horseshoes, and cooking chicken. He held membership in the American Legion, Wolcott Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Palmyra Moose Lodge, V.F.W., and the Wolcott Fire Department. Ed served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957, attended Leavenworth Central School in Wolcott, and had been employed at ACME, Duffy Motts, Alling Landers, and Xerox. Ed is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary Miller; daughters Sue Miller and Deb (Jack) Hatter; son Edward “Buddy” (Pam) Miller; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Karen Andrew of Walworth; brothers Jack (Drena) Miller of Georgia, Richard Miller of California, Robert (Diane) Miller of Newark, and Charles “Skip” (Brenda) Miller of South Butler. Private interment with Military Honors. A Celebration of Ed’s life will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday July 7th at the Wolcott Elks Lodge on West Port Bay Road in Wolcott.
