Mother Jean Pettis passed away peacefully at Newark Wayne Hospital with her loved ones by her side.  

Jean was born January 3, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Frank and Thelma (Williams) Brown.  At the age of two, after the death of her mother, she moved to DeLand, Fl. where she was raised by her great-great grandparents Robert and Fannie Williams. She attended and graduated from Euclid High in DeLand, Florida. In 1962, she worked at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, where she met the love of her life, Elder Willie J. Pettis. They were later married on April 3, 1964 to present. In 1964 they moved to Marion, New York and then to Sodus, New York in 1976 to present. In 1991, she worked along side her husband to establish New Life Outreach Christian Center Church, where she remained by his side until he retired due to heath reasons. 

Jean leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 62 years, Elder Willie J. Pettis, who she loved until the end, her two sons; Glenn (Jae) Williams and Dean Brown Sr., seven granddaughters; Kenyatta, Tameika (Shawn), Sherita (Arnold), Destiny, Raven, Eve, and Jean, four grandsons; Carlos, Dion (Ebony), Dean Jr. and Kenneth, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great grand children, a host of step-grandchildren and god children, sister n law, Ellen Johnson, two nephews, James and Darryl Russell and niece, Laura Ann Russell, special daughters, Shirley Jones and Gloria (George) Miller.

Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister; Pearlie Mae Russell and great-great grandparents, Robert and Fannie Williams.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, at 11:30 AM. at the Redeem Bethel Church of God in Christ, 4496 NY 104, Williamson, NY.
