Obituary of Jill Susan Smith - Torrey

MANNING – Jill Susan Smith Torrey, 81, wife of John Randall Torrey, died Friday, May 19, 2023, at her residence.

Born April 12, 1942, in Rochester, NY, she was a daughter of the late Paul Smith and the late Fern Havill Smith. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. She was a senior member of Wallington Fire Department Auxiliary. She was the Manager of Second Hand Rose Thrift Store in Manning.

Surviving are her husband of Manning; two sons, Brian Warner of Wolcott, NY, and Robert “Bob” Warner (Sandy) of Muscatine, Iowa; a step-daughter, Robin Lee VanBortle of Buffalo, NY, a grandson, Brian Robert “Robbie” Warner; a great grandson, Caspian Warner; a sister, Wendy Pachla (Mark) of Rochester, MI; a brother, Steve Smith (Kathy) of S. Dakota; a sister-in-law, Carol LaValley of North Rose, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
