Please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved husband and father.
Bill and I just learned of your husband's passing. During the time you were my nurse at MS clinic and Strong Memorial Hospital, you often spoke of your husband as a kind and gentle spirit who was always ready to help others/students. I am in your husband one time at your house where you/he hosted a fundraiser for the MS Society. He had organized many art works from digital artists to be auctioned off. In fact my daughter Meghan spoke very highly of him when she took some Fine Art courses with him. If I was there in person I would like to give you a big hug. My Dad lived to 68, my mom lived to 84 and I remember at their funerals the number of people who told me that they had lived a good long lives. Honestly, it made me furious because I wanted more time. 68/84 years of age was not enough for a beloved mother/father who I thought would live forever. But life reminds me that mom and dad live on when watching my grandchildren I am reminded of the many things we did together and I can now pass on to them, the joy of watching my children and grandchildren laughing at something Mom or Dad said years ago because in cherished memories is the precious revelation that love never dies. For that, I am grateful.
I know we have lost touch in recent years I hope we can reconnect because I always think fondly of you. Bill and I would be honored to donate to your husband's sailorship fund.

Dear Martha -
Tom was a central part of your life ever since I have known you. You were the perfect pair with your love of art, the lake, nature and beautiful old things. I remember you caring for him when he broke his leg, your long trips in from the lake, the planning and arranging of your fairy tale wedding, the galas at the gallery on Park Avenue and when your children were born and began to toddle. As I read this tribute, I see a bit more of how your life together unfolded. Living out on the lake, sailing on that water, preserving history and enriching your town while you raised your children living on the lake. I hope your memories may someday ease your great sorrow. You have been a gift to my life in many ways and, of course, knowing you has meant that I knew Tom. The two of you were a very special combination of spirit and vision. So sorry for your loss.
Fondly, Nancy Watson, colleague and friend.

Thanks for being there Tom.
Thanks for the great political debates (usually fueled by YOUR wine and cheeses), the friendship, the tow-heads, the Zerbette, the hangin', the collegiality, the freshly picked and shucked clams right off the beach! Thanks for the ready smile and the gleam in the eye (perfect picture here by the way, Martha).
Tommy boy, we hardly knew ye.
