Ann - and all -
I was so sorry to hear of Luella's passing. She and I served together for many years in the American Legion Auxiliary in Wayne County. I remember Luella was the first one to win a Department (New York State) Award for her volunteer work - what a celebration that was! She had a smile that never quit and always had a word of encouragement for everyone. Her grace and good humor will long be missed.

I lived with Betty and Bill Duncan for a while. Grandpa Bill always stayed busy but would stop to spend time with his mom and I remember Bill Betty and I making many trips to her house to talk and laugh. She was wise, sweet, kind, honest, and someone I always looked up to and admired. I cherished every moment I had to be around her and always asked for her advice. I will miss you great grandma and you will always be on my mind and in my heart. Love always Joseph

My grandmother was a sweet, caring, and loving woman..she had a sense of humor that would leave you rollin on the floor laughing...she loved and adored her family..generous and never asked for anything in return..she taught me how to drive..how to bake..and stood by my side at anytime I needed her..she gave me great childhood memories and dropped everything to be by my side when my husband passed and stayed with me about a month to help me care for her Great grandson when he was born here in SC...there was no such thing as a stranger to her..words can't express how deeply she will be missed by me..and my children..Isaiah, Jesse and Tori Luella ( I gave my daughter " Luella " as her middle name to honor my grandmother) I surprised her good with that one..lol....priceless...This picture was taken the last time I visited her..she looked at me that day and said.." I'm proud of you"...I will never forget that moment..I love u gram..

Luella was a great teacher, no matter what happend she always looked for the Brite side!
She was a treasure of spirit with laughter and joy as her constant companion!!
We went to Sodus and walked the docks looking at the sail boats in the middle of a snow squall!!
But laughter kept us warm!! I will miss you always and see your face in the mists, on the shimmering water, in the light of the morning sun... rest easy Luella
