My husband & I met Kathy and Neil back in 2008 when we purchased our IB condo 1901. Every year after that when we returned we spent time with them. They were such a welcoming couple.
They were at IB when I lost my husband and Kathy and I spent time on the porch chatting - she was the type of person that could make a difficult situation positive.
A few years later they sold their condo and when I returned I felt their absence.
Kathy and I talked afterwards and laugh about some of the scenarios of the past. As time went on we talked about Neil and Kathy's ills, Neil's loss and finally Kathy's!
Will miss you Gal, hope to meet up with you another time and place!

Kathy and Neil were our island friends and neighbors each year they visited Roatan HN. We missed them dearly when they left; as they use to call us for "coffee" talk in the mornings and poolside stories galore! A partial take from a poem: "You can shed tears because they are gone, or you can smile because they lived. You can close your eyes and feel sorrow or you can open your eyes and see all that they left. You can choose to cherish their memory and let it live on"....which is what they both would have wanted. Kathy was amazing...we will miss her. Linda n Fred

Kathy was my home room and English teacher in the 7th grade. And I was in awe from the beginning: how she made teaching/learning so exciting, how her bangle jewelry would cling & clank while writing on the chalkboard and how every day she made me want to be a writer.
Raymer & Jessica, I so very sorry for your loss. She was such a bright light in our tiny town. So, too, was her college sweetheart, Neil. It seems there was no keeping them apart. God Bless them. And may the love they shared live on in you.

It was my privilege to teach when Kathy was teaching. She was a positive influence on all of us. (Also, I will never forget how she said that she considered naming her son "Leav-im.")

Rammer and Jessica,
I am so sorry for your loss. She told me about her illness one day when we met in Walmart and talked for half an hour. She was so brave and I remember a very good teacher and gracious person. God bless you and your families.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. May you draw comfort from all the wonderful memories you shared and from our Heavenly Father who comforts us during our trials. (Psalms 46:1) God promises to resurrect those who have fallen asleep in death through his son Christ Jesus. (John 5:28,29) May this promise from God give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.
