Grandma Elva was our Foster Grandma at the Ontario Head Start. We worked together for 6 years. I was so sad to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful Grandmother to our little ones for years (and to the staff). She always had a lap to sit on or a hug for the little ones and she loved to read to the children. She made a difference in the lives of so many children. Rest in Peace Grandma.

I was so sorry to hear this. Elva was one of my favorite customers at Patons Marketplace. She always had a big hug and a smile for me. I am certainly blessed in having known her. Godspeed my friend. You will be missed.......

On behalf of Wayne Action for Racial Equality
The world will miss Elva Robinson!
Elva cared for her community, loved her fellow human beings, and cherished family, friends and strangers alike. Her work on behalf of improving race relations and supporting those in need took place all over the county. She had the rare gift of grace under fire combined with a steely will to make any situation better. As a founding member, Elva helped the Central NY Death Assistance Corporation provide assistance to grieving families. For many years, her counsel guided the Wayne County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. In addition, her tireless, vibrant and responsive activism helped Wayne Action for Racial Equality respond to many social injustices in the area for close to 30 years.
Each week, Mother Robinson gave to her church the gift of her humble presence. Many have felt her acts of kindness as well as her sharp admonitions to do the right thing. All know that she acted out of caring for the world and those in it to be the best they could be.
Elva's commitment to community, passion for life and love of humanity will live in our collective memory for years to come.
