I met Greg when I served with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. We often talked about bowhunting and our service in the Navy. When he took over the Sodus Fruit Farm he inherited me. I had been hunting crows and coyotes there for several years doing evictions for the corporation. He continued to let me hunt there and we met many times on the farm and up town. He took time from his busy day to chat with me. .
One time this fall when he had made peace with his maker we were in the orchard at harvest time. After we had been talking a few minutes he said "Dickie your breath is awful" He went to his truck and gave me some of his breath mints. Not only did he tell me he gave me something to fix it. Greg,David and I laughed and we continued our conversation. How about that! Only true friends do such things.
After the weather broke the other day and I could drive back in to the Sodus Fruit Farm to hunt coyotes. Before I started calling I said a few words to Manitou about Greg and the land he lets me hunt.
His body has failed him, but his spirit lives on.

We have known Greg all of his life. He lived across the street from us and was often playing with our sons. We also knew him as a partner with his brother , Curt , in the A&A Driveways business. Then, finally, we knew Greg as the provider of our driveway being plowed , every winter. He was very dependable and always did great job of keeping us plowed out. Often times , Bobbie , would supply Him with a cookie or two as a reward for his fine work. As he often had one of his sons with him, we knew he was a dedicated Dad. Like all of the Allman kids , we knew, Greg was a hard working citizen of our town and area.
The last time we saw Greg was in our kitchen in East Williamson. He explained to us that he was quite sick and wanted to just live long enough to see his son graduate from high school. We were very pleased to read that Williamson Central school helped that happen! Greg shared with us that he knew where he was going and that he would be sharing a plot of land near his Mom & Dad in the Sodus Rural Cemetery. Rest in peace, our friend
