Obituary of Catrena Hines

Sodus/Alton Hines, D. Catrena Celebration of Life Catrena Hines was born August 3, 1972, in Sodus, to the late Harry Lee Hines and Lucy Lee (Taylor) Hines. She was the youngest of seven siblings. On Sunday, August 7, 2016, after battling a long illness, with her family by her side, her Lord and Savior called her home to rest. Catrena was preceded in death by her father in 1993. She is survived by her loving devoted mother Lucy Lee Hines who cared for her endlessly; brothers, Leroy and Anthony Hines of Sodus; sisters, Lucy M Snead (Rufus Green); Barbara J Bell (Juan Guite); Elizabeth (James Sr.) Jenerson of Rochester; Sally M (Daniel IV) Jenerson; Easter Hines (Henry Loveless) of Sodus; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and her long time loving pet, Greta. Catrena graduated Sodus Central High School in 1991. She was employed at Key Industries in Newark. Catrena loved going to church and taking family road trips on the weekends. Strolling through Walmart was at the top of her list. She enjoyed being read to and even started her memoir scribe by her special niece Latoya. Before her illness took over, her greatest passion was crossword puzzles, needle point and making family member customized latch-hook rugs for gifts. Friends may call on Friday, August 12, 2016, from 7 to 9 PM at Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., in Sodus. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11 AM at the Alton Free Methodist Church, on the corner of Rt. 14 and Ridge Rd., in Alton. Interment will be held immediately following at the Huron Evergreen Cemetery in Wolcott. Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the interment at the Sodus Center Fire Hall, 5521 Main St, Sodus Center, NY 14551.
