She was always Aunt Jean to me and Aunt Jean was always smiling and had a quick wit. One of her hobbies was genealogy and she made a family tree back to the mid-1700s in England. It took tenacity to do the research in an era before computers but she did it. I will always remember sitting with her, and my dad at Jean’s place on Bond Rd., watching 7 humming birds at a feeder near her window. Even as a child, Aunt Jean always made us feel welcome and at home when we visited for family gatherings.
Say hi to Mimi and Poppy for us Jean. We’ll see you again.

We're thinking of you all & share your grief. Will always think of Jean with that smile on her face, and remember her laugh. She watched over Dick so well in his final years, and for that we've been very grateful. It's hard to think of her as having passed, but Jean rests peacefully now. We hope you find comfort in memories of your happiest times together. Our thoughts & prayers go out to family & friends.

I was very close to Jean in the early 1970's when I had my first real job as the secretary in the Wayne County Employment & Training office and she worked upstairs. She took me under her wing and taught me so much about office work! I would never have accomplished many of my duties without her guidance. We had so much fun too - office parties, lunch together and dinners out - filled with stories and laughter. I got married in 1974, moved to Waterloo and soon after took a job in Seneca County. That was a tearful good-bye. I have often thought of Jean over the years especially when working on something she taught me! I will remember her always and with love. My sympathies to all of you but how lucky she was to have had such an active and fulfilling life. And I know she made a difference in mine!
