Sodus: Passed away on Thursday April 11th at his home in Sodus. Fred is survived by daughter Kathie (Don) Lessord; granddaughters Serena (Sean) Burke and Michelle (Shane) Woodland; great grandchildren, sons, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and special friends Michelle, Jay and Bob. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years Margaret “Peg” Malchoff on June 21, 2012.
Fred was an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer. He was retired from Parker-Hannifin in Clyde where he had worked as a machinist. A proud veteran, Fred had served honorably with the U.S. Army.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be directed to the Sodus Town Ambulance Corps (STAC).
