Rick was very intelligent and loved to engage in deep arguments. I can remember one argument between Rick and Doug vs. me regarding the importance of a person's appearance. I lost the argument, of course! Rick was also very sensitive, and when we dated in junior high school he wrote poetry for me. He was thoughtful and good-looking. I am sad to know that his life was rough.
