Obituary of Shirley Mae Potlaski

Savannah: Passed away at home on January 3, 2013. Born 1931 in Cato, she was the daughter of Jesse Robinson Pollay and Lula Mae Grant Pollay. Shirley is survived by her children Patricia (Larry) Marriott, Dawn (Leon) Waldron, Ricky (Roxanne) Potlaski and Timothy (Tammy) Potlaski; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Ethel (Jack) Mason; brother Rich (Jenny) Pollay. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Potlaski in 1984, and by son Michael Potlaski in 2012.
Shirley loved her children and grandchildren, her church, reading and writing poetry, camping, bingo, bird watching (especially hummingbirds), flowers and gardening, was a member of the Sr. Citizen Group in Montezuma, and was a collector of clowns. She had worked for GTE Sylvania-Phillips in Seneca Falls for 23 years, and then later at IEC in Newark.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 7th, from 2-5 p.m. at the Savannah Community Church, 13368 Seneca Street in Savannah. Funeral services will be held following visitation, the Rev. Gordon Pearsall officiating. Interment will be at Crusoe Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Savannah Fire Department, Rt 89, Savannah, NY 13146; The Savannah Community Church, 13368 Seneca Street, Savannah, NY 13146; The American Cancer Society, 1120 Goodman Street South, Rochester, NY 14620; or Lifetime Care, 800 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513.
