I had the pleasure of serving with Mary Lou as a master gardener through the Cornell Coop. Extension Service for Wayne County. We worked together on herb workshop programs and other activities. I was always impressed by Mary Lou's exact attention to detail and her thoroughness in every task she performed. She also worked tirelessly on the Hotline and meticulously pursued answers to callers' questions. Wherever learning was going on, Mary Lou was sure to be part of it, listening carefully and asking pertinent questions.
In short, she was a real asset to the master gardener program and the community, in addition to being a very sweet and dependable human being. She is already sorely missed, both for her program participation and her lively personality.
