Obituary of Ronald E. Obine

SODUS: Died at home with his family at his side on July 6, 2012 at the age of 82. Ronald, a graduate of Sodus Central High School, later received a degree in Watch/Jewelry Making from Morrisville State Agricultural Technical Institute. He was a Korean War Veteran. Ronald worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad for over 15 years and also retired from Xerox Corp after over 30 years. Ronald loved his trips to Las Vegas where he spent many winters in his home there. He was an avid golfer, gardener and enjoyed hunting with his friends. He was a longtime member of the Sodus Rod and Gun Club. Ronald often looked for new projects to tackle and always succeeded at mastering them. He was predeceased by his parents; Lloyd and Ruth Obine. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice, daughters; Juliana (Grant) Spalding of Marion, Christina Russell of Sodus and sons; Ronald Obine Jr. of Las Vegas and Karl (Lou) Obine of Sodus, grandchildren; Brandon, Bethany and Brian Redder, Ashley White and Leah Obine, brothers; James (Frances) Obine, Robert Obine, and Jerry Obine, sister; Jeanne (Tom) Knapp. Courtesy of no flowers. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at the Sodus United Third Methodist Church, 56 W. Main St., Sodus.
