Obituary of Margaret J. Wahl

Sodus: Margaret Jean (Jordan) Wahl, after a courageous battle with respiratory illness, ended one journey and began another on March 9, 2012. Born August 14, 1925 to Kenneth John & Queenie (Simmons) Jordan in Coral Gables, Florida. As a lifelong homemaker, Margaret enjoyed crafting, camping, travel and family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She is survived by her son, Larry Wahl (Leslie Gross Gifford), daughter Shirley Wahl, son Douglas (Kathy) Wahl, daughter Diane (Mark) Lowley, son-in-law Edward Fuchs; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and special friends Lorna Wahl, Bessie Johnson, and her home health aide Bonnie Osborne of Lifetime Care. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Harry Wahl, daughter Linda Fuchs, granddaughter Heidi Westfall, eight brothers and sisters and companion George Fuchs. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 17th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus, where her funeral service will be held immediately following. Interment will be at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret may be directed to the Sodus Town Ambulance Corps, or to the Sodus Center Fire Department.
